My name is Matt Nichols and I am a freelance photographer in Kansas City, MO. specializing in commercial, editorial & wedding photography.

      I graduated, with honors, from The Colorado Institute of Art in Denver, CO with an Associates Degree in Commercial Photography. After returning to my hometown of Kansas City, I went to work at Sun Publications, headquartered in Overland Park, KS. I worked as the Photo Editor for The Northland Sun-News. These four newspapers have a circulation of over 75,000 per week covering Clay & Platte counties.

      Over those years I grew as a photojournalist and found a new respect for editorial photography. By capturing a story through images, I learned I could share with the viewer an intimate perspective into the people and events that I photographed.

      I started NICHOLS AND COMPANY PHOTOGRAPHY in July of 2001 and moved into a loft in North Kansas City, MO. After working out of my loft for nearly three years, I expanded my business and moved into a new studio space located in "the Crossroads Arts District" at 2006 Baltimore, one block north of Union Station.

      The studio is over 1800sq ft and offers a natural daylight shooting space. Also on site is a client lounge with wireless high speed internet access, hair & make-up room and a full kitchen.

      NICHOLS AND COMPANY PHOTOGRAPHY is a full service photography studio. My skills and knowledge of photography provides a wide range of photographic talent, ranging from traditional film to all aspects of the digital realm.
